County Clique is real culprit in Allen drama

Who is the real culprit in the Clemmons J. Allen drama? In my opinion, surely not Councilman Allen. It's the old county clique forever at work. You know the one. Let the blacks hold all the city offices they want, but hands off those county jobs, folks.

Not so? Ask Noah Atterson Spann , Bob Freeland and now Clem. Most of the constituents I've spoken to, whether they like Councilman Allen or not, agree his downfall was his aspiration to be Lake County sheriff, a sure no-no for a person of color.

Hold your head high, Clem, as you always have, because in the circle which I travel you have always been the one. The Gary Crusader, American and Info newspapers deserve credit for the expert way they reported the events as they occurred. And leave it to good old Post-Tribune to always make things worse than they seem.
